| This summer I was online on Facebook for over 30 hours average each week. I obviously spend much more time on the internet as a whole, but I couldn't stand how much the site really sucked and all I did was scroll through the live feed all day long. I was depressed because I couldn't get off of it so I decided to give myself 20 minutes everytime I logged on. It goes downhill from here. I logged onto Facebook two times in an hour... each hour I was online. I picked up something I thought I'd really like but it didn't help me at all. But somehow I was able to slowly bring down my usage of Facebook, and now... I'm back at it and the thing is that I HATE IT WITH ALL OF MY HEART. Yet, I seem to always go back to it. I honestly don't believe in addiction but the way i despise that site and continue to use it just gets to me. I thought I was cured, but its going to take more then just fixing a certain time for facebook and go on it at the time ONLY.
My parents for some reason have been suggesting internet rehab, but it doesn't seem like that I should go. Doesn't rehab include not using what you are going there for?

That exactly the point if I didn't have a facebook I would only talk to a select amount of people... that would only include those who play video games with me lmao |

ah, I feel like I hate myself whenever I log on. That I can't even let myself touch a game on facebook anymore after Cafe world (which I abandoned).
Now since I go to school I spend my free time playing cod with my friends online and technically raping people in the butt with snipers and whatnot. My parents have actually taken it into their own hands about regulating my time online.

I just went on to talk to my son whom I haven't spoken to for 3 years and that's it. Now, he's chatting it up with his facebook buddies and I'm the old crow on the side.
But, I did reconnect with many kids I used to know, but lives change and then what do we talk about? |

I used to move around a lot and when I was younger and I found friends from legit the 2nd grade, and from 2nd grade to the 10th grade it feels like I barely know them anymore |

We don't! That's reality, we've all moved on in life and have nothing in common except memories of grade school.
It's very hard to hold an in depth convo with school buddies or people that are in your family and you've never met them nor talked to them in years.
What do we talk about again??
Unless you're on there with a group of friends which I find is quite pathetic because socializing should be done in person if possible then what else is there to do?
And they keep asking me for my credit card # or my mobile phone # and I don't have a cell phone nor am I about to share my credit card info with facebook. |

| Oh! Forgot to add that facebook is probably a real great place for people that don't have family or friends in the same city or country.
They can keep in contact much easier with facebook. That I will give it. It's a good communication resource for many who have family & friends living very far away making commuting impossible or expensive.  |

Even one friend whom I'd been looking for for a few years... There's also a lot of family that I keep in touch with mainly thru there.
